If we didn’t get a chance to talk or connect, feel free to follow me on social media or drop me an email—all contacts and social media channels can be found at the bottom of the page.

In the meantime, take a look around to read on about my research profile, the references in my poster, and scroll further down to learn more about my project.

  • I am a PhD Candidate in Media & Communications in Södertörn University, and part of the Graduate School: School, Sport, Screen. My research project observes the digitalisation of education in Indonesia with the context of the national state ideology known as Pancasila or the Five Principles and how it is being implemented in citizenship education, particularly within digital educational content found in digital teaching and learning platforms.

  • ‘School, sport, screen is a newly started research school that aims to increase knowledge about the relationship between education, physical activity and digital media. The research school is a collaboration between three universities and brings together three disciplines – sociology of education at Uppsala University, sports science at the School of Gymnastics and Sports, and media and communication science at Södertörn University. The activity includes nine doctoral students admitted to postgraduate programs in the three disciplines at the participating universities’’ (Uppsala universitet, n.d.).

Empirical Materials: The Next Stage

The poster presentation is only one part of the study.

This figure shows the preliminary research design, in which I hope to conduct fieldwork later this year in Indonesia.

The poster focuses on qualitative content or textual analysis, which serves as preliminary findings on how Pancasila was first introduced then materialised into governmental initiatives, in particular with the phenomenon of the digitalisation of education.

Following this study, I aim to interview a representative from the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) as well as talk with teachers that use the Merdeka Mengajar teaching platform.
